Cyber security is about protecting your personal devices, network and programs from cyber-attack (Cisco, n.d.). Cyber security is another name for safeguarding – meaning it is all about reducing or avoiding disruption where any attacks can affect the computers, data or other personal devices (Skillforcare, 2017). In addition, safeguarding privacy and confidentially is important as well as the integrity and availability of data (Skillsforcare, 2017).
There are devastating consequences of Cyber-attacks. Cyber-attacks can cause damages to employees, consumers and even organisations and are designed to either damage, access, change your personal details or even find ways to obtain your money (Cisco, n.d.). In doing so would destroy people’s personal lives or even their financial lives.
Security breaches can also occur when the organisation or individual uses fax machines to send information, have paper records or even speak verbally (Skillsforcare, 2017). Any breaches are dangerous, and the consequences of information being leaked out can be distributed and can be reached by anyone (Skillsforcare, 2017). The Cyber Breaches Survey in 2017 have stated that 46 percent of business reported a cyber attack or a cyber breach (Skillsforcare, 2017).

Cyber security is considered by many to be extremely important. Many businesses know that cyber security is a high priority due to many businesses storing important information. In addition, individual need to also understand that their personal information is important to them as well.
